You know how everyone has something that they are just terrible at? Organization & cleaning is my absolute weakness. I think at 1 million miles per hour… like a tornado of thoughts & ideas… like in my brain is the hottest of hot mess. So that is kind of how I live. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen me show my side of the room vs my husbands… my desk space vs his… my chaos vs his OCD.
One of my New Years goals on my vision board (see post here) is to be more organized. The reason I want to be more organized is because a lot of flaws come with my way of doing things. I lose pretty much everything & that tends to cost us money. I also have a hard time feeling restful or peaceful because my surroundings are often crazy messy. And let’s keep it real, if I was more neat my husband would probably feel better & he is so dang fine I like to make the man happy.
Here are a few ways I am working on being more organized & some tools/products that have been helpful so far.
A dope planner
Ok I am OBSESSED with my Brilliant Life Planner. It is so detailed, organized, & there is plenty of space. I have been writing affirmations, goals, & strategies in here each Sunday. On top of those things, I have been writing out a detailed schedule for each day of the week. Each morning after I spend some time praying for the day, I open up my planner & check my agenda. This has been so helpful in remembering appointments, friends coming over, dinners, etc. I seriously forget everything, even my meetings. So this is a constant reminder of what is going on that day. I know some people rely on technology, but writing things out makes them connect with me more. I love how much inspiration this planner gives me. There are inspirational quotes & even spaces to write what you are grateful for each week. I feel like every brilliant lady should get their hands on one!
A Cleaning Schedule
I wrote down all the things I need to do & divided them up throughout the week. As I said, I have to write things out for them to connect, so I typed up a cleaning schedule like my mama used to do when we were kids & taped it to my fridge. I open the fridge many times each day, so I will be constantly reminded to get my act together. I seriously am TERRIBLE at cleaning so this is so helpful.
A Menu & Grocery Pickup
I have gotten into a bad habit of running to the grocery store multiple times a week for what we need to eat that day. That means more money & less real meals. So I found a Walmart that does grocery pickup (a mamas greatest friend) & create a weekly meal schedule. After I create the schedule I wrote out everything I will need from the store to make these meals/snacks happen. You guys this has been EXTREMELY helpful in keeping my guys all fed & sticking to my Paleo eating.
These tools have been keeping my scatter brain a little more in order & order is just a good thing to have. I hope these are helpful for you. I’d love to hear some ways you stay organized! Much love amigas!
